No Christ For You!
An opinion piece by John Gibson titled "On the Defensive?" on the Fox News website discusses how Christians are on the defensive more and more over the past ten years, and are trying to do something about it.
The latest permutation of this story in the news Friday is that Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is going to speak out at an event in which Republicans are going to say the Democrats are blocking Bush's judicial appointments out of opposition to people of faith.
This story is a great follow up to my previous post "Anti-God Again." More and more the people on the left are trying to remove religion, especially Christianity, from our society.
Look at the last few Christmas seasons, when secularists running city halls and schools have tried to banish any possible religious symbols of the season in what appears to be an anti-Christian movement. Why anti-Christian? Because other, minority religions are celebrated and in most cases, only Christianity is banned.
Come on folks, this is just the beginning, if we do not fight back. Let's say the anti-religion backers get their way, you know it will not stop their. Next, the cross around you neck is offensive, take it off. The parish t-shirt you have on causes my child to feel like an outcast because he/she doesn't have one, we are atheist, stop wearing it. Christmas lights on you home is causing undo emotional stress to the non-believers in your area, take them down.
Sure, this sounds crazy to us in a "free" country, but this is exactly how religious persecution starts.
Just this week, a federal court in Los Angeles insisted against a cross on a hilltop in the Mojave Desert federal land come down and suggested that a solution to keep it up, involving a land swap which would put the piece of land in private hands, was a ruse to keep an unconstitutional cross on government land.
A land-swap exactly like it just occurred in San Diego in order for a landmark cross to remain. It was done in San Francisco, too. But it can't be done in this case in the wide-open Mojave Desert. Why? Ya think just maybe somebody's got some animosity for a cross that's so ingrained there is no permissible solution for the cross to remain?
First, it's restricting government land. Then, the people who work or use the government property. Next, who knows?
Where are the pro-abortion people who use the excuse "government should stay out of people personal lives" as the mantra to keep abortion legal? Shouldn't they also be standing up, fighting, to keep the government out of religion too? But, they won't. It is all part of the liberal agenda, hide their ulterior motives with an "it's good for the people" approach, when actually they want and need the people to be dependent on government for survival, not God. This way, the liberal politicians get assured of re-election, therefore even furthering their agenda. This is where the democrat scare tactics come in on election day. Vote for me or you will starve to death!
I agree, the government should not endorse any particular religion, but it should give people the freedom to worship.
Check out the original story here and let's try to get the new judicial nominees passed.
God Bless.
